Literacy conference was great success; photos now online

The 20th Annual Conference on Literacy was a great success. In keeping with the theme, “Embracing Equity Through Multimodal Literacies,” this year’s conference drew attention to the issues and range of possibilities for effectively meeting the literacy needs of all students. Keynote speaker Joseph Bruchac emphasized the importance of diversity, enjoyment of reading at all grade levels, and the powerful roles played by storytelling and imagination in literacy development in his presentation entitled, “Seeing the Circle: How Storytelling Builds Literacy and Connects Us All.”
